Description

I was asked if I could make a tattoo for a friend from a passage from a H.P. Lovecraft story. Well needless to say he wanted it a bit different than I did, but I liked the first one better.

Here's the passage:
..the nightmare, plastic column of fetid black iridescence, oozed tightly onward through its fifteen-foot sinus, gathering unholy speed and driving before it a spiral, rethickening cloud of pallid abyss vapor. It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and unforming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down on us, crushing the frantic penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its kind had swept so evilly free of all litter.

the reference to penguins makes me almost 100% sure that it was from At The Mountains of Madness. i believe those were shuggoths in the water... anyway, he didn't really give you that descriptive of a passage to go with. you did exceptionally well with the information he provided, though. awesome tentacles. the eyes are great too. i'm sure it was the subway tracks and worked brick that turned him off. (the story happens mostly inside of a mountain in antarctica, no subways there...) good luck on further HP endeavors!
